Since I measure, cut, fit, glue, and route for a living, when I get home I prefer to measure, cut, fit, glue, and grout. It breaks up the monotony. Plus tile is so much nicer than Formica, don’t ya think?
BEAUTIFUL job. Fred would be proud of you. He is a master tile setter and can spot a good job from afar! I see you have some ivy hung above...are they the ivy that caused so much strife finding the proper hangers a while back?
Oh that's right, thanks for reminding me too Alana. Because the darn brackets didn't work out the ivy is still hanging too high for my liking. I need to get some chain or cord and make some nicer (longer) hangers. ...Yes, I’ll have to get around to that someday.
Your work projects look pretty doggone wonderful to me. As far as the hangers are concerned: the ivy will grow down, you can pick up some spiffy cords at Joanne Fabrics, or you can make them out of bailing twine. It's amazing what you can make out of bailing twine and duct tape.
Thanks Alana and Pam. This was my first attempt at tile, done a few years ago with borrowed tools (now I have my own.) What you’re looking at was once our walk-in closet, but now it’s part of the master bathroom.

ReplyDeleteIf you ever want to cut, fit, glue, and route, you're welcome to come here. This tile job is gorgeous!

ReplyDeleteSee what I mean. I said "route" and I meant "grout". That's why my handywoman specials are so awful...I "route" instead of "grout".
ReplyDeleteAlana, you have a good memory. Thanks for reminding me of the ivy-hanging-debacle. ;-}

…And Pam, I like your use of the word “debacle” above. It’s the perfect synonym for the work “project” at my house ;)
