They're leaf cutter ants, and they were amazing to see in action. I watched them carry hundreds of cut leaves from the top of this tree, down the trunk, right past our table and across the sand as I ate the best rotisserie chicken I've ever tasted. Quite a treat!

YOW! Fire ants. They're eating the tree alive along with whatever body happens to be sitting nearby. It appears they like dining by twinkle lights.
